Personal Note From Julie: The Cure for Career Boredom

Jan 16, 2015 | Career Development

timeorganizeDuring the past six weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of catching up on things I’d put off for quite awhile — organizing my home office, getting rid of a lot of clutter, putting new systems in place, and doing some professional recharging. The process has done wonders for my stress level. It has cleared my mind, relieved anxiety, and helped me create a stronger infrastructure to support my success in the year ahead!

With 2015 already two weeks old, it’s time to start gearing up for the months to come. However, if you’re still recovering from the holidays, feeling uninspired, or hitting a slow spot at work, this can be a challenge. If you’re experiencing any or all of these things, now is the time to shake things up by injecting some professional development into your daily routine.

Do some reading or journaling, catch up on your filing, or clean and organize your workspace — these tasks allow you to clear your head and make room for new projects, ideas, and opportunities. When was the last time you updated your resume or professional portfolio? Both are essential to your admin career, and updating them may help you figure out what to do during downtime at the office.

If you need some motivation to start working on your portfolio, I invite you to join our free 5 day challenge, which is taking place this week. If you missed last week’s free webinar, Spotlight Your Career: 3 Strategies for Boosting Your Professional Visibility, you can still get the replay and participate in the challenge. Click here to join now! The ideas, tips, and personal stories that our participants are sharing are incredibly inspiring and motivating!
