Personal Note from Julie: Make the Most of Your December Downtime

Dec 2, 2016 | Productivity

It’s hard to believe that it’s already December! This year has been mostly a blur for me with a lot of major family situations to navigate. We’ve had some really low points with my mom’s cancer and losing her in June. And this week, we celebrated a very high point with the birth of my newest niece – Allison Jean. What a wonderful way to end the year! Allison weighed in at just over 9 lbs. and looks just like her 3-year-old sister, Ellyana, who has been putting in some quality time with Aunt Julie this week. That has been a delightful (and exhausting) experience for Aunt Julie! I have a whole new respect for moms with little people in their lives.

With all the ups and downs of the year, I’m definitely looking forward to regrouping this month and getting the New Year off to a productive start!

With a lot of executives and colleagues taking vacation, December can be a slow time of year for many admins. If this is the case for you, I encourage you to make the most of your downtime! Now is the time to start thinking about your 2017 professional goals, preparing for your annual review, and taking steps to organize your admin career.

This week’s feature article offers a guide for career organization. You can also purchase this month’s AdminPro Training Series to find out how to ace your annual review, and join me for #AdminChat later today for more advice on the subject. Finally, we’re sharing lots of tips and advice on end-of-the-year goal setting and career assessments on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages.

Later this month, we’ll be sharing some ideas for office gift-giving, talking about wacky office rules, and giving you advice on how to onboard a new executive.

Supporting your administrative success,

Julie
