The smell of the holidays is in the air! The leaves are falling. Delightful holiday recipes are popping up all over my social media feeds. And it’s my absolute favorite time of the year because I get to pull out my turkey collection for the Thanksgiving season!
It’s also the time of year when we begin thinking about taking some time off to enjoy the holidays with our family and friends. And that’s why right now is the time to start preparing for the holidays by creating (or refreshing) your office systems and procedures, so you can fully unplug and really relax with your family.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing a lot of advice and tips on how to get started creating and documenting your systems so you can leverage this vital resource in becoming more efficient, less stressed, and fully able to enjoy your family time away from the office.
To help you get started, I recorded this month’s AdminPro Training Series as a step-by-step guide to getting started creating your office systems. I show you how to do it with examples of meeting planning, office filing (paper and digital), and travel planning. You can preview it here. I also share five important ways procedures can help facilitate stress relief in this week’s feature article. And we’re sharing even more resources on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages.
I’m living proof that life can happen to you at any moment. I’m also living proof that documented systems and procedures help you keep things running smoothly no matter what happens. And my wish for you this holiday season is that you are able to take time off (if you want to), and can fully engage with your family and friends – without interruptions from the office while you’re out! Getting better systems and procedures in place can help you do just that!
Supporting your administrative success,
Julie
