I have to admit – I used to think some of the travelers I supported were a little over the top in their travel planning requests. What type of aircraft is it? Does that terminal have a club lounge? Please make sure they have this type of soda and this newspaper in my room when I arrive.
Now that I’ve done a lot of business travel, my perspective on these requests has changed a lot!
While travel can seem glamorous and exciting, there’s a lot more to it than just visiting cool cities and enjoying nice dinners. It’s a lot of work and effort for the traveler, especially when trips are back to back and there is little time for recovery in between.
I now have my own list of specific preferences, and they aren’t because I’m a high-maintenance executive. Most of them are related to staying healthy and productive while I travel.
As an admin, you can add tremendous value in supporting your traveling executives, too!
It’s the little details that make a big difference. This is especially true when it comes to planning travel. You need a good system so you get the details right every single time. This week, we’re explaining how to look at travel planning from your traveler’s perspective and make their trip as easy, organized, and stress-free as possible. We’re also sharing lots of tips and resources on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages.
Traveling can be stressful even for the most seasoned of globetrotters. With a good travel planning system, your travelers will know the important details are under control so they can focus on the work at hand. And that’s a winning strategy for the entire team!
Supporting your administrative success,
Julie
