Bullies, mean girls, Queen Bees – it seems like these terms (and the people who represent them) should have been left behind long ago, on the elementary school playgrounds and in the high school locker rooms of our youth. But unfortunately, that’s not the case.
Nearly 75% of people are affected by some form of bullying at work, whether as a target or as a witness. It leads to decreased performance, increased absenteeism, and a toxic workplace culture. And many are afraid to talk about it – anxious that they’ll be seen as weak, tattletales, or worse.
It’s time to start the conversation. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite resources that detail what bullying and harassment really is and more importantly, what you can do about it.
