Personal Note from Julie: From Accidental Admin to Company CEO…I am #AdminProud

Apr 17, 2015 | Career Development

facesofadminassistantsrev250This month, we’re celebrating being administrative professionals and spreading the word about the benefits of this career.

But I have a confession: I didn’t always want to be an admin.

I wasn’t one of those people who graduated from high school knowing exactly what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be. I didn’t know much about the profession or what it entails, which is why I often refer to myself as an “accidental admin.” Instead, my introduction came via a couple admin positions that I landed and really liked. It was only after I spent some time as an admin that I realized the career’s potential.

Once I discovered all the places the admin profession could take me, I started actively engaging with it, charting my career path, and setting goals for myself.

And I never looked back.

Today, I’m proud to say that I am an administrative professional. And I’m proud that it helped me blossom into entrepreneurship and inspired me to launch All Things Admin!

This month is about celebrating our profession, and this week’s feature article includes a lot of valuable information on all the special administrative professional training opportunities, events, giveaways and more happening throughout April. You can also find additional information on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages and share why you’re proud to be an admin using the hashtag #adminproud.

The administrative profession is a wonderful career option, but it can also be the perfect starting place for so many other careers. I’m so happy that I was introduced to this profession because it’s led to so many awesome opportunities and relationships – both personally and professionally. And I know that no matter which path you decide to take, there’s unlimited potential for you, too!

Supporting your administrative success,

Julie
