No one has true job security. Positions get eliminated. Mergers and acquisitions happen. People outgrow their jobs and look for new opportunities. The only thing we can count on is the preparations we make for these changes. So, whether you’re leaving your admin position for greener pastures or on less-than-great terms, you need to avoid stranding your executive and team.

When I worked in the corporate world, one of the first things I did when starting a new job was to document my procedures. I used these procedures for my own reference, but they also helped my team when I was out of the office. And when it came time to leave a position, procedures made the process a lot smoother for my replacement and the team.

In this week’s feature article, we’ll look at what you can do to prepare your executive and team for your departure, including tips for creating your procedures, and how to set them up for success before you leave. We’re also sharing some excellent resources on the subject on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages.

Change can be stressful, but when you plan ahead, tie up loose ends, and prepare your executive and co-workers to carry on without you, you’ll be seen as the respected professional you are!

Supporting your administrative success,

Julie
