I took my first plane ride 30 years ago this summer. It was a church-sponsored youth group trip to the former U.S.S.R. We departed from New York’s JFK airport bound for Helsinki, Finland. An hour into our flight, our plane was struck by lightning. We landed in Montreal to get some equipment fixed. Then we flew across the ocean in the same airplane. It makes me a bit nervous thinking about it now. But when it’s your first time flying, your first trip abroad, and you’re so excited you can barely contain yourself, a little lightning doesn’t really bother you…too much.
That trip was all it took for me to become a travel addict! Since then, I’ve traveled to four continents, visited 17 countries, and explored countless cities around the world. I do a lot of traveling for fun with my husband, but I’m also a frequent business traveler. And I can tell you that traveling for business is a lot more hectic and stressful. That’s why it’s so important to be organized and efficient before, during, and after these trips.
This week, I’m sharing my top 10 favorite travel items that help keep me organized and efficient when I’m traveling. You can also find lots of great ideas and resources on our Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages. If you have other tips or travel tools you can’t live without, please share them with us!
